Central Valley Gas Storage L.L.C. Announces Receipt of California Public Utilities Commission Approval
(October 18, 2010)The California Public Utility Commission has decided to grant
the application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and
Necessity (Certificate) filed by Central Valley to construct and
operate its underground natural gas storage facility in Colusa
County, including a 14.7-mile pipeline to connect with Pacific Gas
and Electric Company’s natural gas transmission system. This
decision also grants Central Valley’s requests to be designated a
public utility and to charge market-based rates. It certifies the
final Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the Central Valley
project and makes the Certificate subject to mitigation measures
set forth in the MND.

Now that Central Valley has obtained its Certificate and construction permits, construction activity is fully underway.
Construction is planned to be completed during the first quarter of 2012, with
firm storage services commencing on April 1, 2012.
CPUC issues Final Mitigated Negative Declaration

The California Public Utility Commission prepared a Final Mitigated Negative Declaration (Final MND) under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for consideration of the Central Valley Gas Storage Project showing that the proposed Project, as mitigated, would not have any significant effects on the environment.
